Sonmarg is a hill station and popular tourist place, located in the Gandarbal district of the state of Jammu & Kashmir. It is about 80 km from Srinagar, inhabited by the Himalayan plains, thousands of tourists come to visit this place every year. Sonmarg is very popular for a Bollywood movie, most of the time, shooting takes place here from November to February due to heavy snowfall, this place is closed and remains open from April to October. There are many things to see in Sonmarg, Thajwas glacier is the most popular here, followed by Gangabal lake, Zojila Pass, Vishansar lake, Krishnsar lake, and there is a beautiful Batlay valley here. You can also get to see Fish park & Sarbal park in the local sightseeing.

Gulmarg is a town, a hill station, and a popular skiing destination in Kashmir. The town is located within the Gulmarg Wildlife Sanctuary, which is part of the Pir Panjal Range in the Western Himalayas. Gulmarg, just 52 kilometers from Srinagar, is located at an elevation of 2,730 meters above sea level and is fully covered in snow during the winter. As a result, it’s a hotspot for winter adventure sports like snowboarding, heli-skiing, and off-piste skiing (skiing on off-piste ski runs), among others. Its slopes have been ranked as Asia’s seventh best for skiing. Gulmarg is nestled in the shadow of the Apharwat mountain, which can be reached through the Gulmarg Gondola, the world’s second-highest cable car ride. A journey on this gondola is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, as it glides over hills and valleys, almost disappearing in mist and clouds! Originally known as Gauri Marg (meaning “the way of Devi Gauri”), it was renamed Gulmarg by Yousuf Shah of the Chak dynasty in the 1500s.
